10 Claude Use Cases for Admins, Red Team Agent: Native Pen Testing Coming
From the curator, Grzegorz Skaruz: It's already Tuesday evening here in Poland, but I made it in time. Another week, another pile of Salesforce news to sort through. Read the whole note
It's already Tuesday evening here in Poland, but I made it in time. Another week, another pile of Salesforce news to sort through. This edition leans heavy on AI, no surprise there. Claude keeps popping up everywhere, including some genuinely useful ways admins can start using it daily (with the usual caveat: don't blindly trust what it spits out). Then there's the native Red Team Agent Salesforce announced at Dreamforce, which could finally make penetration testing less of a luxury for orgs that never had the budget for it. Winter '27 is live too, and it's not one flashy headline feature this time but a bunch of smaller wins across data, security, and Flow Builder worth sharing with your team. And if you're using MCP or building AI agents, you'll want to know Salesforce is about to start charging for that access through Flex Credits. Worth understanding before November. Dig in below.

10 Claude Use Cases for Salesforce Admins
Claude is a huge deal in the Salesforce world right now - powerful, easy to use, and perfect for admins willing to give it a shot. But here's the catch: over 75% of Salesforce Admins haven't tried vibe coding tools like this yet, missing out on a ton of potential. This piece covers 10 practical ways admins can use Claude daily. One big reminder though - never blindly trust AI output. Always double-check and test results before deploying or treating them as fact, whether it's Claude or any other AI tool.

'How Do We Even Start?': The Agentforce Question That Dominated Dreamforce
AI's moving fast, but a lot of regular folks feel stuck at the starting line. Salesforce's Agentforce, launched in 2024, is a good example - confusing pricing, constant rebrands, and a flood of new features have left many more baffled than excited. It's not just Salesforce's problem either; every AI vendor is racing to cash in on the hype. The real issue? Adoption is lagging because people simply don't know where to begin, even as companies push full speed ahead toward the "finish line."

Salesforce Red Team Agent: Native Penetration Testing Is Coming
Most Salesforce admins never get their org penetration-tested - it's pricey and usually needs outside help since there's no built-in way to do it. That's why Pete Thurston's Dreamforce announcement caught attention: Salesforce is building an AI agent for Security Center that actually tries to break into your org - native red teaming. This piece breaks down what red teaming means, why it matters, what got announced, and what's still missing from the picture.

Would Salesforce Careers Survive an AI Bubble Burst?
Everyone's tired of hearing AI might take your job - even senior Salesforce folks aren't safe, apparently. But flip the script: what if AI itself crashes? Billions are being poured into AI right now, while even AI leaders admit things could go sideways. If a bubble bursts, it probably won't kill AI - more like the dot-com crash, where the internet stuck around but only the solid companies survived. So the real question: would Salesforce careers ride that out okay, or get pulled down with everything else?

Salesforce Winter '27 Is Live: 12 Features to Share With Your Team
Winter '27 has been rolling out since September, with final updates landing in early October. If the team's been buried in projects, chances are nobody's checked the release notes yet. Agentforce is getting the spotlight again, but there's plenty here for admins, developers, and architects too. Flow Builder just got one of its biggest upgrades in years. Here are 12 Winter '27 features worth sharing with the team, starting with Flow.

Winter '27 Release: Trigger Salesforce Flows With Multiple Records
Winter '27 brings a cool upgrade: now multiple records can be selected from a List View or Related List and sent straight into a Screen Flow. To set it up, just create a Text Collection variable named "ids" in Flow Builder (marked as available for input) - that's where the selected record Ids land. Then build a screen flow, turn it into a quick action on the object, and add that action to the List View or Related List. Simple setup, but a powerful way to process multiple records at once.

Salesforce Winter '27 Admin Highlights: Top Data, Security and UX Gems
Winter '27 brings solid behind-the-scenes upgrades for Salesforce admins. Instead of flashy headline features, this release focuses on the everyday stuff that makes admin life easier - better data governance, smoother user management, more flexible Lightning UI customization, and improved tools for tracking system performance. Basically, if your job involves managing permissions, cleaning up record access, tweaking page layouts, or keeping security checks in order, this update's got some real wins for you.

Is Salesforce AI Pricing Encouraging Bad Architecture?
Salesforce is pushing structured, secure ways for AI agents (like Claude or ChatGPT) to tap into its platform, using things like AIforce, MCP, and the Headless Toolkit. Makes sense - safer and easier to manage. But here's the catch: Salesforce also plans to charge Flex Credits whenever those AI agents actually use this proper, governed access via MCP or direct APIs. So companies end up with a financial reason to avoid the very method Salesforce says is the safest and cleanest. That could push people toward messier workarounds instead - meaning the pricing model might actually work against good AI architecture.

Agentforce Named Agents: What Casey, Paige, Carter, Hunter, Marshall, Piper and Fin Actually Do
Salesforce dropped seven ready-made AI agents at Dreamforce instead of making you build your own from scratch. Casey covers customer service across voice, SMS, WhatsApp and chat - low risk since it's internal-facing. Carter lives in Commerce Cloud, helping shoppers compare products and check out. Fin tackles messy, multi-channel customer experience tasks - the vaguest job description of the bunch, but also the most interesting one to watch. The bigger point: these prebuilt agents come with built-in assumptions about how work should get done, so they'll click with some companies and clash with others. Worth checking what each one needs, what's actually live now vs. coming later, and where it's smarter to skip them.

Is a Salesforce Career Gap Career Suicide?
A Salesforce career gap isn't career suicide, but let's be real - it's not nothing either. Tech moves fast, certifications and tools change, and some employers do filter out folks who haven't worked in the newest systems. Add a tough job market and AI shaking things up, and stepping away for a year or two feels scary. There's a genuine "recency penalty" to deal with. But tough doesn't mean impossible - a gap is a challenge, not a dead end for your career.

Why AI Fluency Could Soon Outrank Your Salesforce Certifications
Salesforce is going all-in on AI - not just in its products, but in how it hires and trains people too. Existing staff get retrained for AI roles through Career Connect, and there are AI leaderboards tracking how much employees use tools like Agentforce Coworker and Slackbot. Falling behind gets noticed, while top performers help guide others. For new hires, AI fluency is becoming just as important as technical skills. And it's not just Salesforce - partners and other companies working with Salesforce may soon face the same expectation, fueling the debate: does knowing AI now matter more than having certifications?

How to Handle Date Time in Salesforce Agentforce?
Date time is a classic headache for Agentforce agents. The fix needs three things: the agent must know the user's time zone, grab the date without asking for it directly, and send a clear, unambiguous value to the action saving the record. Miss one, and a 3 PM meeting ends up saved at 11 AM. The tricky part - users say "tomorrow at 3 PM," but Salesforce stores everything in UTC, with an LLM stuck in between. Without guardrails, the agent might ask "which time zone?" or send a broken value to your Flow. This post shows a real working Agentforce Employee Agent (built in Agent Script) that creates Events correctly - using user profile context, smart reasoning instructions, and the lightning__dateTimeStringType input. Full code included, with tips at the end.

Salesforce Customer Portal: Build In-House vs. Use a Pre-Built Solution (What Admins Should Know)
Since September 2025, Salesforce has made it harder to connect new apps to orgs, and this wasn't about customer portals - but admins got stuck dealing with it anyway. That's basically how portal decisions go: the "build vs buy" choice gets made quickly at the start by developers, but the ongoing work - permission checks, testing updates, fixing issues - lands on admins for years afterward. So instead of comparing features, this piece looks at what each option actually leaves behind for the admin once everyone else has moved on.

Data 360: Query Syntax
Quick cheat sheet for writing Data 360 queries: object or field names can use quotes or none; text matches need single quotes and are case-sensitive; boolean fields are filtered with IS TRUE or IS NOT TRUE; text fields check for empty or non-empty with '' or ''; and date/time filters use TIMESTAMP ranges, like pulling leads contacted in May 2026 by joining lead and email activity tables on matching IDs.

Your Team Knows Which Salesforce Fields to Ignore. AI Doesn't.
Most teams think "AI-ready data" just means clean data - no duplicates, no blanks, consistent formats. That's not the real issue. The real question nobody asks is: does every field an AI reads still actually mean something to someone? Most companies can't answer that, because humans have always just known which fields to quietly ignore. AI doesn't know that - so it reads everything, including the junk, and confidently gives wrong answers.

Salesforce Anti-Patterns, Lars Malmqvist
Lars Malmqvist's book on Salesforce anti-patterns is a solid read, even though it was written before AI took over the spotlight. It could've easily been a blog post, but Lars manages to stretch the content in a way that doesn't feel repetitive. Jokes aside, the book is genuinely useful - it highlights patterns that seem fine on the surface but can cause real trouble down the line. Basically: an anti-pattern looks like a good solution at first, but ends up biting you later in software projects.

Salesforce Aiforce: How It Works, Features, Architecture, Use Cases
Salesforce AIforce is basically Salesforce's way of bringing its data, AI, automation, and business tools to wherever people actually work - not just inside the main Salesforce app. Think AI assistants, chat apps, custom tools, or AI agents - AIforce lets Salesforce power show up there too. The whole point: work tools should meet you where you are, not the other way around. It's not one single product but more of a strategy, and it still keeps all the usual security, permissions, and rules intact.

Build Once, Deploy Everywhere with HXL - Headless Experience Layer in Salesforce
Build your card once as JSON, then reuse it everywhere. With HXL (Headless Experience Layer), you create a widget - photos, prices, a Book button - and it works across different AI apps without changes. Each app gets its own adapter (Lightning type) that plugs its data into the same widget. Agentforce and Claude get the same info, just packaged differently: Agentforce gets it straight, Claude gets it wrapped via MCP. One widget, multiple adapters, zero rebuilding.

How to make daily scrum and retros valuable?
Daily scrums feel pointless on this Salesforce team - just people repeating Jira status updates everyone can already see. No real blockers discussed since folks just reach out directly when stuck. Retros are worse - nobody speaks up, nothing to improve beyond "someone was on PTO." With 1,400 org users and sitting on three teams, it's the same stale updates every time. Spending 1-2+ hours daily in these meetings while everyone multitasks because it all feels like a waste. Wondering how to fix this, since Salesforce teams (admins, POs, PMs, random business folks who shouldn't even be there) run way differently than typical software teams, so standard agile advice doesn't quite fit.
